On May 4th, Kinnaird College for Women had the honor of hosting a seminar featuring an extraordinary panel of leaders and advocates for child rights and international cooperation.
We were privileged to welcome:
- Her Excellency Ina Lepel, Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan, whose distinguished diplomatic career continues to strengthen bilateral ties and advance collaboration in renewable energy, climate resilience, and evidence‑based policymaking.
- Ms. Pernille Ironside, UNICEF Pakistan Country Representative, a seasoned lawyer and humanitarian leader with over two decades of experience in child protection and emergency response across challenging global contexts.
- Ms. Sarah Ahmad, Chairperson of the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau, Government of Punjab, recognized nationally and internationally for her transformative initiatives in rescuing and rehabilitating vulnerable children.
- Mr. Ramiz Behbudov, Chief of UNICEF’s Field Office in Punjab, who is leading efforts to integrate child rights into governance, capacity building, and grassroots health and education initiatives.
The seminar opened with remarks from Professor Dr. Iram Anjum, Principal of Kinnaird College, setting the stage for an engaging dialogue on child protection, governance, and international cooperation. This gathering was not only a celebration of leadership but also a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to safeguarding the rights and futures of children in Pakistan.
