Kinnaird College Anti-Drug and Tobacco Committee, organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Seminar on May 5, 2026, in collaboration with the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force.
The seminar featured Brigadier Mazhar Iqbal, Director General Punjab Counter Narcotics Force, as the keynote speaker. Prof. Dr. Masha Asad Khan, Chair, Anti-Drug & Tobacco Committee, delivered the welcome address at the seminar. Dr. Masha also highlighted the various awareness initiatives and activities carried out by the committee over the years to promote a drug-free and healthy campus environment. The session was also attended by committee members Ms. Abeeha Shaloom, Ms. Saima Mubeen, Dr. Ammara Rubab, Dr. Shireen Mushtaq, Academic Deans, faculty members and students.
The speaker delivered an insightful and impactful awareness lecture highlighting the dangers of drug use, its detrimental effects on individuals and society, and the importance of prevention through education and vigilance. He urged students to make informed and responsible choices and to actively contribute to a drug-free society. . An awareness walk was also organized within the premises of Kinnaird College to reinforce the message against drug use and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among students.
Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum, Principal Kinnaird College, also emphasized the critical need for organizing such awareness sessions. She reiterated the institution’s commitment to fostering a safe and healthy environment for students and encouraged continued collaboration with relevant authorities to combat the growing threat of substance abuse. Kinnaird College remains dedicated to its mission of empowering students through education, awareness, and responsible citizenship.
