Kinnaird College for Women organized a workshop on “Social and Emotional Intelligence” under the Mentorship Program for Universities on 14th May 2026. The workshop was conducted by Prof. Dr. Najma Najam, Pro Vice Chancellor, Institute of Arts & Culture (IAC).
The event was organized by the Mentorship Program’s focal person Dr. Aiysha Safdar Ali under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum, Principal, Kinnaird College for Women. Mentors and mentees from various departments participated enthusiastically in the interactive session.
Prof. Dr. Najma Najam is a renowned psychologist, educationist, and administrator with over 50 years of experience. She is the first woman Vice-Chancellor in Punjab and the founding Vice-Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Women University. Her remarkable contributions to higher education and psychology have earned her prestigious honors including the Pride of Performance and Fatima Jinnah Medal.
During the workshop, Dr. Najam emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence in professional and personal life. She discussed self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, communication skills, and healthy workplace relationships. Interactive group activities encouraged participants to reflect on emotional awareness, assertive communication, and interpersonal behavior.
The workshop proved to be highly engaging and informative, providing participants with valuable insights into developing emotional intelligence for effective leadership, collaboration, and professional growth.
