The programme commenced with recitations from the Holy Qur’an and the Bible. The celebrations continued with patriotic musical performances, including a thematic national song video featuring Kinnaird students, produced under the guidance of Mr. Abdul Rauf, Advisor, Kinnaird Music Club. The video beautifully highlighted the values of unity, shared belonging, and collective identity under the national flag.
A major highlight of the event was the theatrical performance “Iss Parcham Ke Saaye Talay”. The performance paid tribute to Pakistan’s linguistic and cultural diversity, reflecting the many traditions that contribute to the country’s shared national identity. This was followed by another national song by Kinnaird students and produced in collaboration with ISPR, filmed at the Army Museum. A vibrant cultural fashion walk further showcased the rich traditions and heritage of Pakistan’s diverse regions.
In her address, Principal Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum reflected on the symbolism of Pakistan’s green and white flag, highlighting how its colours represent the strength, diversity, and coexistence of the country’s communities. She spoke of Kinnaird’s remarkable resilience and journey since Partition, while also celebrating the College’s recent achievements, including the Youth Excellence Award 2026 received by Ms. Tayyaba Azhar and the Pakistan Harmony Excellence Award 2026 received by our student, Mishal Mona. She also paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Lab Assistant, Mr. Kamran of the Chemistry Department, remembering his valuable contribution to the Kinnaird community.
The distinguished guests echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of equal citizenship, minority rights, youth leadership, national service, cultural heritage, and unity. Their addresses reinforced the message that Pakistan’s strength lies in the diversity of its people and in the shared values that bind them together as one nation.
The celebrations concluded with the distribution of certificates to winners of various competitions held throughout Independence Day Week, followed by a group photograph and the hoisting of the national flag. The occasion culminated in a community breakfast hosted by the Principal bringing members of the Kinnaird family together in an atmosphere of fellowship, gratitude, and national pride.
Together, we stand united under the flag of Pakistan.
Pakistan Zindabad!
