The Textile Design Department, in collaboration with the Fine Arts Club, Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore, organized “House of Cards – Artfest” on 29 January. The event provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity, artistic skills, and conceptual depth through a diverse range of textile and fine art works.
The Artfest was graced by the presence of the Principal, Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum, as the Guest, along with senior faculty members and members of the academic and artistic community. Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum appreciated the students’ innovative approaches and emphasized the importance of artistic expression, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning in higher education.
The theme “House of Cards” explored ideas of fragility, balance, power, and the temporary nature of social and personal structures. Students translated this concept into compelling visual narratives through textile art, paintings, mixed media compositions, installations, and contemporary art practices. Each display reflected originality, technical skill, and thoughtful interpretation.
The exhibition space was transformed into an immersive artistic environment, where traditional techniques were blended with modern aesthetics. Faculty members and guests admired the creativity and conceptual strength of the students’ work, while interactive discussions added depth to the overall experience.
House of Cards – Artfest stood as a successful collaborative initiative that celebrated creativity, dialogue, and artistic excellence, reaffirming Kinnaird College for Women’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting a vibrant culture of art and design.
