Kinnaird College for Women had the honor of hosting the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme Phase IV Distribution Ceremony on Monday, February 23, 2026. This flagship initiative of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, implemented by the Higher Education Commission, reflects the government’s continued commitment to digital empowerment and academic excellence among the nation’s youth.
During the ceremony, 184 laptops were distributed to students based on merit, reinforcing efforts to enhance access to technology and bridge the digital divide in higher education.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Fahad Shahbaz, Focal Person PMYP, who highlighted the transformative role of technology in education and its importance in building a progressive, knowledge-based society. He remarked, “Empowering our youth with the latest technology is an investment in the future of Pakistan.”
The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme aims to equip talented students with essential digital tools to support their academic pursuits and professional growth. Under this initiative, one lac laptops are being distributed to students across the country, demonstrating the government’s dedication to nurturing young talent and preparing them for the challenges of the modern world.
Principal Kinnaird College, Prof Dr. Iram Anjum, also addressed the gathering. In her remarks, she appreciated the visionary leadership of Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and acknowledged the strong collaboration between the government and educational institutions in advancing national development through education. She encouraged students to make the most of the opportunities provided by the Government of Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of leveraging digital resources to expand knowledge and explore new academic horizons. She concluded by reciting a powerful couplet by Allama Iqbal:
شاہین تیری پرواز سے جلتا ہے زمانہ
تو قوتِ بازو سے اسے اور ہوا دے
