Lahore, March 14, 2025 — The CM Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Disbursement Ceremony was held today at Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore, marking a significant step toward promoting higher education and supporting deserving students across Punjab. The scholarship program, launched by the Government of Punjab, aims to provide financial assistance to talented students with academic potential, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their pursuit of quality education.
The Chief Minister Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program, in collaboration with the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), is designed to empower students who demonstrate exceptional academic abilities but face financial challenges. As part of Phase 1, a total of 48 deserving students were selected as awardees. An amount of 8.9 million rupees has been granted to Kinnaird College for Women, and the scholarship will cover the full tuition fees for the entire duration of the students’ undergraduate programs, subject to maintaining academic performance.
Addressing the audience at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum, Principal of Kinnaird College, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Chief Minster Punjab and Punjab Higher Education Commission. She also acknowledged the efforts of the Scholarship Scrutiny Committee, which included Dr. Helen Khokher, Dr. Asma Hamid Awan, Dr. Elizebeth Shad, Dr. Farooq Babar, and Ms. Shelly William, in ensuring the selection of deserving students. Special thanks were given to the Finance Department, led by Mr. Muhammad Irshad, Mr. Ashfaq Rashid, and Mr. Kamran Akhter, for their efforts in processing the financial aspects of the program. “We remain committed to ensuring that our students have access to the best educational opportunities, and this scholarship program is a vital step toward achieving that goal,” said Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum during her speech. “The Chief Minister Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program is not only a significant investment in the future of these students but also in the future of Punjab’s youth. It will open doors to brighter academic and professional opportunities.”
