BS Applied Linguistics

This four-year degree program offers an inclusive range of major courses related to the field of contemporary research trend in Applied Linguistics and modern pedagogy. BS Honors in Applied Linguistics program envisages enhancing students’ understanding of current issues in the field of Applied Linguistics. Subject areas in this degree program complements a wide range of subject including Historical Linguistics, Phonetics, Phonology, Syntax, Discourse Analysis, Psycholinguistics, Semantics, Pragmatics, Computational Linguistics, Integrated Language Skills, Natural Language Processing and Sociolinguistics.

Our vision is to be an internationally recognized leader in the key areas of Applied Linguistics; teaching, and researching language in a complex and connected world. We produce Graduates and linguists well versed in both theoretical knowledge and applied aspects of language studies, teaching, and research.

We aim to produce professionals in Applied Linguistics who can meet local and international needs. To equip students with a critical understanding of Applied Linguistic; issues in local and international contexts and to prepare them for advanced research. Training underGraduate and Graduate students, who go on to use their knowledge of and proficiency in Applied Linguistics in diverse patterns of academia.

Admission Requirments

Qualifications:

FA/F.Sc with minimum 60% marks OR A-level in three main subjects (no subsidiary) with minimum Grade B (60%) with Equivalence Certificate OR Grade 12 with minimum Grade B (60%) with Equivalence Certificate.
All candidates must appear for an aptitude test

Degree Requirments

To receive BS Applied Linguistics, a student must complete a total of 130 credit hours with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.

Active Citizenship Program

Active Citizenship program offered by Kinnaird College in collaboration with British Council and HEC is a social leadership training program that promotes intercultural dialogue and community-led social development. It is a mandatory requirement for the completion of underGraduate degree and based on two semesters. All students will study the theoretical portion through different activities starting in their 3^rd semester. They will plan their social action projects in 4^th semester and implement it in the field.
