Vission And Mission

For national development and progress, the role of Chemistry can hardly be neglected. It is the cornerstone of all industry, environmental and health issues, untapped natural resources, their discovery, and enhancement of quality etc. The vision is to achieve the highest possible standard of scholarship, teaching and research in Chemistry and to develop a curriculum which is need based; with periodical upgrading and modifications considering the global changes, national requirements and international competitiveness. The department is determined to inculcate the habit of working in groups among the students to acquire respect for values, ethics and leadership qualities; as a result, appreciation for team work automatically follows suit.

The mission of M.Phil (Chemistry) is to produce learned post-graduates in Chemistry who can serve the academia and chemical industry of the country with devotion and may excel in higher studies, by providing the students good theoretical knowledge along with the practical and instrumental skills.

Admission Requirments

Qualifications:
  • 04 years BA/B.Sc (Hons) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 OR 60% marks in Masters. The applicants must have done their BS in Chemistry
  • All candidates must appear for KC Graduate Assessment Test
  • Only short listed candidates will be called for the Interview

Research Thesis

An M.Phil candidate who has completed her course work with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 must present and pass the oral proposal defense examination before she is allowed to carry out her Masters research. On passing the thesis proposal defense the student must carry out a research study which is described in a thesis. She must successfully defend the completed work in an oral examination involving a presentation and question answer session in the presence of an external examiner.
